What is a QR code?

A Quick Response (QR) Code is a pixelated barcode which displays the information attached to it once it has been scanned. You can scan a QR code from a smartphone or device using a QR code app or a camera.

How does this affect me?

Energy suppliers are required to include a QR code on customer bills and statements to provide customers with personalised energy data.

The QR code on your monthly bills and statements will provide the following information: 

  • Postcode
  • Supplier
  • Tariff Name
  • Payment method
  • MeterPoint
  • Annual consumption
  • Consumption dates

How do I use the QR code? 

Simple! With a smartphone or device, you can scan the QR code on your monthly bill or statement and your key account information will be downloaded and displayed.
